Originally founded in 2007, Design Interaction was launched to bring innovative product offerings to the specification community. Created by Sandy Smith, a 20+ year industry veteran, the company successfully allows manufacturers and distributors of architectural products, to get an audience with those who choose them. Sandy graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Interior Design. After working as an Interior Designer for Kimball Office and a few other firms, she moved into a specification sales role. Sandy worked for Pionite, then was Midwestern Specification Sales & National Account Manager for Wilsonart. She has spent the bulk of her career promoting products to the architect and design community in the Midwest. Having a clear understanding of the specification process and it’s complexities, Sandy is known for creative approaches that have resulted in large volume specifications for many commercial projects. Some successes include Hyatt Hotels, McDonald’s, Walgreen’s, Sears.
